CS2Day Workshop in Second life

This might be the 1st accredited workshop for doctors given through a 3D virtual presentation and workshop. So, how could I resist being anything but help the pioneers?
Plus, it is free. What's the catch? too good to be true? Ok, this might be an experiment or a research indeed. But I'd sure benefit from attending something like this.

and just when I thought I'd fall asleep (I've been in front of my computer since 5am for this)
They proved me wrong -it was even more interactive than most of Real Life (RL) 's symposium I've been attending all this time..

The presentation was by voice and a small amount of slides
While the slide showed upone by one, we -the participats at the audience bench - are interactively involved in texts, responding to the presenter's questions..

And these are some of the responses from the docs:
'"I usually ask them if they have thought about it and whats their motivation scale"

At work, mostly get these reasoning from their own patients about to or not to quit smoking:
- I know it's bad for me but this is not I am here for
- i'll quit after I graduate
- I enjoy smoking
- I will quit when I'm ready
- I'm healthy.
- I tried before
- it's too hard
- I'll gain weight if I quit
- it relaxes me
- It helps me manage stress

Case study 1: Asthma

Most of the participants agree, that this was a case of resistance
Where each one have had an experience at work and here how they respond to the situation:

- Is th3e asthma the only thing you are concerned about
- You must really care about your daughter if you go outside to smoke- Are you willing to have a conversation?
- That's great that you don't smoke in the house but....here's how you can make it even better. You have shown her the mirror

Then we were presented by a brieft role play (links coming up) which lead to some more discussion with the participants:

- obviously, she is unaware of that smoke sticks to her clothes
- asks for permission to discuss

- I feel like he is tip toeing around the real issue, I find we have to be blunt sometimes

- You cant wait for the patient to come to realization, you're putting patient at risk
- She is a concerned mother already, just acknowledge that
- The 5A's call for "Advise" cessation- how do we reconcile that with equipoise?
- I agree with this, but we have to set up a time specially for the mother..so to do further counselling
- develop rapport.....change doesn't happen overnight. her focus is "the docs aren't using the right meds". if she doesn't believe her daughter has appropriate medical treatment, she is going to be too stressed to even think about behavior change.

DEVELOP DISCREPANCY

- how important is it for you to try to quit right now?- beating themselves up because they've not been successful;
- maybe we can look at those failures and turn them into success by working together
- you seem stressed about quitting smoking yet feel that smoking helps relieve your stress
- quitting smoking is important to you, but you are worried it might increase your stress levels
- so you have tried quitting. What are some things you've tried? Are there any other things to lower your stress?
- so on one hand, you feel smoking helps manage stress, but on the other, you see that quitting smoking is something you would like to do.

Imperial College London's Med School in Second Life

My visit to the simulation of emergency cases presented by Dr. David Taylor lead me to this place:

Here I am examining a patient, or so it seem.
Since I came to the sim alone, I only have access to limited simulation
The BP monitor showed me that his Blood Pressure is 120/80 which is prime.
I can's see his blood sugar level though, shame
Neither can I read his chart...

This is the intermediate ward, the furthest bed from the camera was occupied by a patient
I had a fun chat... quite a witty persona ;P

Before entering the OR, I was told to wear a mask, so I did
And then I enter the scrubbing chamber, and of course scrubbed

By the OR's entry...I got this:
NHS Tour Guide 1 Says: You signed in correctly.
You scrubbed in successfully.
You forgot to wear your mask.
Sorry, you failed to complete all the required steps for entry to theatre.

???? can't you see I'm masked? or did they think I'm wearing a niqab? well, though I do wear a hijab, I don;t wear a niqab..so what you see here is really a mask... so, please let me in (:P)
I know what I failed to do: wear the scrub /OR's robe ..which I can touch only

Anaesthetic Machine - Used for maintenance of general anaesthesia

Inside the O.R, I was accompanied by a quite good looking anestesist (;P)
who's checking the patients anestetic status during the time of operation - another key of a succesful surgery, often overlooked- other than a good surgeon and staffs is a good anestesist. Without one.. even the greates surgeon can fail a simple operation.. (despite religious facts)

p.s I'm not saying this just because he's kinda cute :P

Event4FunD for Mt. Merapi& Mentawai Tsunami Victims

Less than a month ago,
I accidently discovered that there's a community of Indonesians people in Secondlife whose inworld's age are mostly less than 6 months old. But so eager to learn in that metaverse, they already know a lot of things average SL residents find out in a year living inworld. And even more amazing is that, an idea that just came out a week ago is now expanding into a week event of various activities for a noble cause.
Last Friday, when the group are gathering for its weekly learning program in SL, a member came out with an idea to raise some funds for the victims of an erupting volcano in our country, Mount Merapi.
And in just the count of days, an event had started by Nov 10th: An exhibition of Mt. Merapi and Mentawai, where besides the photos people visiting can also watch a youtube video of what's going on there (here), buy merchandise and give their donations.
On Nov 12th, there was a real Professor of Geology from the University of Illinois, Dr. Billy Shield (Zeppo Sinaro inworld) giving a lecture "Mt.Merapi Volcano-A Look at Geologic Setting and Associated Hazzards." And as we predicted ebfore, the sim was all packed, that some of our own SLED's member could not make it to the LM
And tonight, we are going to have a 24h live music... all these are a chain of event4fund to help out victims, in the area of Central Java Indonesia and Tsunami in Mentawai island, West Sumatra! So, if twitter has its trending tweet 'Pray for Indonesia' ... we residents of SL too now can say that our metaverse are full of warm hearted people, who don't think twice for a noble cause, no matter how far they live from the disastrous area...

Everything ran down smoothly, but there's no challenge if all things run as they should right? today we learnt our first EO lesson... timezone problem.
We are supposed to have a charity concert at 12 PM Nov 13th, but it didn't go as we planned. My guess why this happen is the difference in understanding 12PM between SL(western) and people here... 12PM in SLT is refered to high noon there, while here mostly we assume it's midnite. Because we rarely use AM/PM we use 00.00(midnite) and 12.00 (high noon)
And as I re-write this down, we are still waiting for the concert...personally, I have been waiting for 13,5 hours :D

When I first start this blog, this kind of console games is actually the one that I had in mind to talk about... But I never got around to it.

In contrary to popular opinion on the parent side, I decided to buy a PSX console for my 3 years old kid more than 5 years ago (why PSX? cos that was the 1 I could afford). And ever since then to the next 2-3 years later, I kept myself busy playing them firstly in order to provide suitable if not educational games for her age. And to my surprise (since I've found not many discussing this in any parent lounge), I found many interactive game to stimulate the brain.

Basically, they have coloring, math, and reading for different age group, I'm afraid I haven;t played them for quite long now.. I forgot which are which but those who said which one they are in... got it? good mom/dad.. :D

After more than 2 years having Kip Yellowjacket in my friendlist. I finally attend one of the meeting he has on his pretty popular sim Virtlantis (Btw why yellowjacket Kip? that made me me think you were an alumni of the most popular university in my country, University of Indonesia).
So yesterday at 6 pm my time (4am SLT) I went to Tea Time with Wilson, teleported to the event area about 10 mins too early, I found Wilson, a big muscled kinda scary looking man, in the middle of the venue, stood there almost alone but a geeky looking avatar behind him. So, uh oh... I thought.. not another lonely event, I cant go on in an event with such few attendee, not anymore.
But just as the time was getting closer, one by one avatar popped in the middle of the room, till there's about 10 of them.
So, the tea time begin.. Wilson told us that he's going to read something he called a micro fiction, a new term for me already, which is a very very short fiction story, only a paragraph long. In each story he presented, he asked us which word we didn't understand, and though it was a very short story, I always found a word I didn't fully understand..put it in a phrase I can get the meaning, but not the word's definition itself. So, it was really good for vocabulary building!
After thatm he asked those in voice to read the story out loud, and repeat some certain word he find us hard to pronounce over and over... good practice, simple but really practical isn't it?
So, he went on to the very last story, which was my favorit one.. about a russian scientist name Rudolph. Bla bla bla... came the punch line, when Rudolph were arguing with his wife, he said:
" Rudolph, The Red, knows rain, Dear!"
Hehehehe, I wish I remember the whole story, but... did you get what's so funny with the punchline?

2 years playing this game, I finally decide I like it enough to post it here :P

1. Farmtown

Yap, my no. 1 fave game is actually this one, not Farmville which came in 2nd
Why? Because I find it more amusing since we can chat with other gamers inside the game, both in a chatlog and as chat bubbles coming out of each avatars.
So, while playing I learn other languages too, e.g I now can start my own farm in French lol..

The farming process also more interactive, we can plan crops in our own field and harvest them all by ourself, sure… but more interestingly if we ask other people to plow and harvest for us. That way we can save time and earn just as much money as the other part earn some too and get bonus crops too (vise versa, we can do ppl’s farm and gain coins and crops from them too). It doesn’t require friends to be online to do so, we can go to the marketplace and find someone to do the job for us, or get a job for ourself.

Becareful tho, to assign people to harvest you need to be online at the time! different crops wither within different time.. there are crops to be harvest in 6 hours so it wither 1-2 hours after and other be available in 4 days.. (omg, as I was typing this, I realize I had planted some crops that needed be harvested yesterday!! Aarrrghhh… my hardwork)
As other farming games start invading, Farmtown develop into a multiple game in one… now they have facilities to process our crops into usable goods and food. E.g. Sheeps’s wool into fabrics, olive ito oil, barley into malt, and restaurants to make food out of our crops like the pizza place, hot dog booth, and sushi, etc

2. Restaurant city (RC) Vs Cafeworld (Cw)

Yes, facebook has far too many cooking and farming games now... but back in d ol days, even before cafeworld, this was the main cooking game. Well, at least that's what I know... I'm not the biggest facebook addict.. so. (Come to think of it, why not writing about both here, so it save a lot of my precious time ;P)

OK what's more exciting on RC is that you gotta have certain ingredient before you can cook anything, you'll get some basic ingredients and some coins when u first play the game. And then to get more, you got to visit some neighbours..the 1st time you visit, you'll get 1 ingredient, some coins too if you help them with some problem they might have in theirs.

On RC your avatar can hire friends to help either as co-chef, waiter, or janitor.. so as long as you keep them happy buy buying them some food and keep your restaurant open by spending some coins, the place will run by itself.. all you got to do is choose your menus you already have.

You don't get ingredients in Cw, you just open the menu and click on it to buy new menu and start cooking as soon as you got yourself a stove, ...(oh yes, you got to buy the stoves, tho 1st stove's on the house in both games).And your meals has different times to eb done, so if you are not carefull and remember each timing they will be spoiled. At first this part made me come again and again just so I can serve my meals in perfection, but it get's upsetting sometimes so I dont cook as often. Instead I just serve meals I got from clicking others' reward they got playing Cw.. sad isn't it.. such a lazy cook in and out games :P. But these rewards are what keeps me playing Cw..

On Cw you work all by your avatar-self.. but the fun part is you go to watch the lil creature cook in more detailed graphic than RC.Unless you prefer the 'just 1 click superstove that is also available, you cook here in some steps by cicking the stove.. different style of stove cook in different speed. Sometimes this is fun but sometimes this can be quite disturbing, especially when u are running out of meals to serve

And though I love both games, I prefer RC.. again for the more interactivity I get from playing it.. if only we can chat with our avatar staffs and guests.. it could be even more fun to play

Swine Flu Panel at Virtual Ability

Ok 1st of all, this is what I have in mind entering my first week in SL ..more than 1 year ago. And only now I have the chance and the courage to do so... making and having my own presentation on a mdeical issue plus using voicechat (I hope they understand me)

Wearing a balinesse dancer outfit (accidentally) mixed with muslim's hijab and a bright yellow sandals...here I was, speaking about how people might cach the viral infection of H1N1 a.k.a swine flu. Emphasizing that even in the communities where we don't eat any swine product/pork, we are not at all immune to the disease.

Ending the slide with a great big thanks in my own language, bahasa Indonesia....

Health Conference

I don't remember when was this event being held, but in SL we can find many health related event if we care enough to search it every now and then. Since I joined a couple of Health realted groups, it's easier for me to know the when and where...so, if you are interested..join that sort of group... there are so many to join...

Ann Myers Medical is one that hold a couple of intern meeting simulation... I'll post about that too... if I can find a pic.... You have to join the group to get in some of their simulation area and to be involved on the intern meeting

My Own Country Club?

When I was a kid, I always want to join some kind of a horse club... and though my friend own a ranch of breeding racing horses back in West Sumatra, I never get to learn how to ride a horse. Only here in SL, that dream sort of come true... racing event a couple of weeks ago, next to the southern fun club.. And you dont have to own your very own horse (though I do.. lol.. just for the sake of childhood fantasy... err... still wanting to though), the ranch provide you a horse you may keep!

IN ENGLISH: Languagelab, how it all begun in my second life (posted on 25 March 2009)

Time flies....been more than 1 year I've joined languagelab, both as student and part of the team. I may say, if it weren't for Languagelab I might have quit second life on the second month after I first rezzed there.
So, 1 year ago.. I wasn't very adventorous when I first started my second life journey. By the second month, I was ready to call it quit.. I mean camping, clubbing, dancing around was just not my thing (yeah was...lol, it's a whole different story why I use a past tense for that)

So, by early February or late January 2008 I rezzed on Languagelab after reading that they were having an english quiz event. Now quiz, that's my thing... always love it in RL as well.
I teleported to their beta welcome area, an I remember it so well who were the first 2 avatars I met over there. They were Merwe and Jessie, Merwe works as languagelab helper while Jessie is the Languagelab home staff in their RL London office.
Merwe was the first person who gave me a nice hijab to wear, made by her friend, so she's partly responsible of the way I look in SL. And Jessie Teacher, love her Brittish accent..but she surprised me later that she can speak my language! Then, Merwe lead me to the quiz area, where some other avatars has been waiting ..some to join and some to watch.
Then the quiz host rezzed at the area, I remember his name was Head Teacher or something.. a bit strange .. I mean it's really awkward if we try to call him by his first name, don't you think? But again, his non American accent sound so distinguished and likeable (well in my country, all english media materials are americans so I am only use to the american accent before... Mr. Bean doesn't count.. he talks? no).
After introducing himself by his real name (smart move... there goes the awkwardness I felt before) he start to explain the rules, etc, etc... then a woman pop up in the middle of the area. She has a very foreign accent, I thought she was French! It was Anna, who I later know is an Italiana. She's the quiz organizer, and a very cheerful lady host too! This 2 people were really good on this, I felt like it's a RL quiz (hehehe, yeah yeah get a life.... so you say). I am still brokenhearted that they no longer have any quiz these days, sniff..sniff...

Btw the first quiz I joined was very interesting for me, and also that was when I first met my first friend is SL, Noddy -who first i thought was a very good looking boyish avatar, turn out that she's a lady ;) - And although she has that cute brittish accent, she claims to come from a non english user country.. she then becamne the hardest to compete with to win the precious quiz prize. Well, of course other than Ling, Sensi, and Ryong.
But who is Ling? ..... to be continued.... LOL

So what's so interesting about second life

After hovering around so many sims with nothing much to do in almost 1 month (back in the early days), failing every job aplications (yeah, it was even harder to apply for a decent job here)..some of these keep me in second life:

Education Event
Before I knew I can search for education event, I though second life is all about non sense chit chat (not even as familiar and friendly as old web-text/ java chat room in my earlier opinion), dancing, escort business and strippers.
Then I get to click on the education event, and I start learning things, like:
1. SL related like prim building, scripting (still not knowing how though), animation (joined the class, but too lazy to learn further...), machinima (making videos and all)
2. semi related to SL : but using a non SL tools like creating textures, outfit by photoshop (which i never thought i'd get my hand on before SL..I always prefered the more simple corel draw), and even sculpting
3. SL mediated: conference, languages learning, even simulation of medical internship that looks so real

Yes, I met Michael Buble inworld.... :)) too bad he didn't have a live show, we were in the middle of a photo sesion here, and I'm the photographer (;D)

Ok, seriously live music in SL might not be a Michael Buble's Madison Square Garden performance...but some of them are really really good..

1. JustinElias Anatra
He really has such lovely voice, all songs he sings if it was not his original, he made it sound his own way. He is No mediocre karaoke (;) quoting Cowel), no wonder because in RL he's also a real musician. In world, he perform regularly at the star bar martini every monday morning 4 pm SLT, and sometimes at Gold Club, and other places... you can join his group or his subcribeOmatic if you are runing out of space for groups.

2. Ruben Charleville.
He is no stranger to me, I dub him my SL brother after a while knowing him and played a prank on him at last year's april fool (sorry Ruben ..lol)
He compose music and his performance are instrumental orchestra (which he know so much about) and film soundtrack. FRIENDS
I'll be there for you...cos you're there for me too.... oh, well thats the OST for the tv series, LOL. I have my own version of friends. SOme of them even became my semi RL frieds (out of SL, but never met them in RL so)

1. Ling
After considering who should be no.1 on my list....:P Got to be her. She reads my brain, it scares me (not!). She rezzed in SL just 10 days after I did, but she found SL through language lab, so she didn't know theres other places but the school we both love so much (she is still half aware of it).
She made quite good fortune in Linden, and if she ever make it to her own money it still a lot (in fact sh could be the next Anshe Chung)..but she prefered to invest it on something she trully believe...(and I can not believe!)
She is one Av I can call SL sister, though I never thought I would want another sister (1 RL sister is enough!). To others she seem very sweet and innocent, to fellow coleagues ..well.. not so lol. And to me she can be both, but we always talk frankly with each other... so never any hard feelings...(well in my part.. but I hope not)
She has a certain feeling she brings home from SL, and for that I warn her a lot. When I first know her, she often brings her RL and SL bf along with her, it was a bit hard just to hang out with her without him tagging along. But, seem like lately, the may really broken up... maybe for her own good..but sometimes I'm afraid, maybe not! Well, she knows why not....

2. Mafahir
LOL... I cant believe I though he was a mature man when I first met him. He's such a kid, although he just turned 20, but he never really grow up...and he's loving it! We both have much in common, we whish we were The Never Land's resident playing peter pan, which is not hard to do in world lol.
Inside, he's a smart kid (with a smart mouth) but always good at heart (awwwww ..see Mafa, i tell nice stories about you). He almost got bannd from SL, maybe due to his hack loving attitude.. he explained once about white hacker..whatever that is.
And as annoying as he could be, he is my SL little brother (no matter how tall he gonna be). Sometimes he can be cute too :P , and he look kinda like Mohinder Suresh in RL (oh watch out girls....)
He quit SL though, to be concentrate more to his own RL study and future plans (good for you Bro)

3. Ruben
This name already appear above on the musician tab, but this is just about him in avatar.
First met him, we were trying to sort out if he has voice, but it was late for him so he just coughed a bit and then giggled... I pretended he wasnt there and told Ling that I already love his giggles... lol
He's hard to blush, he's a good actor himself...and we always had a good a bit crazy chat. He didnt even fall for my april fool prank so hard...
So, after passing my prank... I call him my SL big brother, he can't avoid that... unless he wants another prank.
Knowing that he's such a loving father just make some of us go awwwww... he often excuse himself to take his li'l ones to school, and to tell them bed time stories. I thought .."too good to be true"... but.. then I remember the saying, again "all the good men are either married ...or gay"... thinking which one is he? hehehe, obviously ..the 1st one

4. Merwe
She was an angel from heaven for a newbie like I was, gave me a lot of stuffs and help me dress up the way I like to in both world.
She had a 'geek inside' tattoo and also a great builder. A young girl, very pretty in both world (lol...not Hannah montana...roflol), blonde Av but smart :P. Ouch...ok, blondes don't throw your stilettos at me please... ;D
Cheeky and sassy, she says what is as what it is...always have good laugh when we chat. And we fought over Michael Buble.... ok ok..she may have him , I call her Mrs. Buble...while I am happy enough to be a Mrs. Jones in that case.... Hahaha wink ;) wink.

5. Partack
Awwww.... that's his iconic sound, lol... he used to make that sound a lot.. and it was sooooo super cute. He rarely appear human, always a pink round heroic cartoon character unless he was on helper duty. But being both avatar, he always represent a cute sweet young man. He knows a lot about computer game program, someday I hope he will be making his own game.
My daughter was a big fan of his cartoon character, so when she saw his avatar... she just loves it! LOL..but she's only 6 years old... and I kid around calling Partack my future son in law ( I think he found it too weird but didnt want to hurt my feeling by telling)
He somehow never online again, hopefully he's having a job he loves in RL..but really really miss him a lot.

6. Noddy
Met her first on the quiz set, we were the same team. She gets all the answers so fast, and humbly said it's merely cos she's good at typing (yeah the right aswers are jus a coincidence).

She had a boyish looking avatar, I realise that she's a woman a while after I heard a lady with brittish accent talk in the voicechat not realising it was hers! LOL.
Although we learn at the same institute, we never share the same class due to timezone difference. So we rarely see each other in avatars except in the early quiz area where we compete as if it was an RL event LOL, but our IM chat are always hilarious.

7. Eid
At first I thought he was very serious and shy in person. But lately, found out that he loves kidding around, though still seem a bit shy. A young man from Saudi, and a dear bro in faith... not only cos we share the same belief, but also a similar point of view in seeing this differences in the world. Like me, he prefer to seek what we have in common instead of the differences we might have with other people.
Owning his own sim, to gather people in harmony (awwww that song 'ebony and ivory' should be the sim theme song... and of course 'that's what friends are for' and 'we are the world')
He claim to have no GF in world.... ok, we just have to take your word for that.. :P

8. Josey

My country mate, used to be so naive...may still be a little. She tends to take things seriously, she works hard, and sometimes missunderstands me.... cos contrast to her, none of things in SL that I take seriously, except the friendships...(even that, I hate to think too much, since we tend to loose touch in SL).
She seem much in love though, bit worried about her.... girl ...remember mama said "don't ever mix your SL feelings with RL!"...

9. Anna
Anna L' Italiana, she's a friend as well as a mentor. She's a great event organiser but also a fun loving avatar. When working, she's very mature and serious about it, sometimes it scares me. But there were times when we were playing crazy bouncing ball and race with 1 other friend LOL. She trained me to host the quiz and to organise the event, one class I never took on the other education event of how to host...I got it from her.
On the quiz set she was really fun and lively, she kept the quiz alive with her funny remark and comments...Little did I know, that she was working so serious with every little detail to be prepared for the event, thumbs up!

10. Head
Last (for today) but not least... problem is, would he call me a friend? (He seemed forced to add me on his friendslist since I work for the quiz).
He has a very distinguished accent.. not so English, not American either.... maybe because he's neither...but Irish. A very witty avatar, who only comes in world for RL purposes... e-teaching and e-learning..all virtual education and research stuffs.
His avatar remind me of the mayor in the Desperate Housewives serials..LOL.. and his attitude during the quiz he hosted remind me of Simon Cowel ..:P
And other times, he remind me or Mr. Sheffield.... from The Nanny serials.. while I was the secretary (lol the evilish C.C ..but she's also witty!)..though I prefer to be more like nanny Fran role... (roflol)
Too bad he's not just another avatar..but more human than the other avatars in world, he always work work work, so no time for chit chat and hang out with friends...
Still... I see him as a dear friend :))

Playing this game and those other dash games are all alike, but why do we like it, still?Maybe because our own daily activity is much more boring than cutting and blowing hair? Or, maybe we juat like to play pretend since we were kids? (some readers may still be kids). As much as I hate going to beauty salon -(except if I really need to have some creambath treatment, which only once a year...)- I find it surprising how much I enjoy playing this kind of game. Washing peoples hair, cutting, etc..just as much as I like playing waiting tables with dinner dash and delicious deluxe.The trick is how to do it fast and how to beat the closing time. Kelebihan di belle Boutique, para pelanggan bisa ngobrol satu dan lain, bahkan cowo-cewe bisa gebet2an...hahahah. Nah buat yang hobi main minigame ataupun yang mau buka salon, latihan aja kali main game ini...

Pertama liat judul game ini aku kaget banget.....

Ha! kok sama dengan greeting di HPku yang telah kukarang bertahun2...(hehehe rada narcis yaaa, it's another sory lah).
games ini mini banget, berhubung udah lama ga main lagi agak lupa2 juga, kalau ga salah cuman ada 13 level.
Grafiknya juga beda dengan games2 yang lain, agak artistik and ga terlalu animated. Di games ini kita memerankan seorang gadis Italiano jomblo yang dijodohin emaknya sama cowok ganteng (but anak mami banget). Setiap level kita harus semakin deketin kedua manusia ini dan ada target2 yang harus diselesaikan. Supaya cowoknya makin terpikat (aiiyah) , kita harus pinter2 bagi waktu kerja ama meni-pedi, spa, fitnes, dll. Jangan sampe lupa makan, poin kesehatan bakal berkurang kalau kelupaan, tapi kalau kita makan di mal yang makanannya junkfood juga poin kita dikurangin...
Si cewek juga kerja di kantor Omnya yang bawel, di jasa konstruksi, harus pinter2 cari duit untuk bayar segala kebutuhan tadi, ngelobi hakim yang mendenda perusahaan Omnya, juga bantuin emak-bapaknya di restoran keluarga (kalau kecapena bisa pingsan deh)
Games ini cucoknya buat anak cewe banget....dan yang udah rada gede 11 tahunan lah....soalnya game tentang dapetin gebetan gitu looh...ihik ihik..(tapi yang lebih demen pasti emak2 niiih..heheh)
Aku sih senengnya game ini cepet tamatnya, tapi setelah tamat nunggu2 versi selanjutnya kok ga muncul2 ya??

This is a really mini minigame. There's only 13 level to play before we either win it or lose. The game might be easy to play, but it certainly is not a toddler game, because in this game we play match maker.There's this Italian young girl that we have to match with a gorgeous -yet mama's pearl kind - Italian guy. Each level has some targets to fulfill before we can go on the next level. This is a much shorter version of The Sims, just like the popular life simulation game, the character in ciao bella also has to maintain her health, looks, and job(s) so she won run out of money. Money is needed to buy food, beauty and healthcare, etc (do i need to explain that?).Why I like this game? coz it's so short, I can play it up to the end -and won- before i got bored or to frustrated to go on... ha!

merasa mirip JLo? main wedding dash deeeh

Wah ada dash-dashan baru nih.... untuk yang pernah nonton the Wedding Planner...naaah ini permainan mirip banget ama tuh filem deh (hehehehe ternyata ini hubungannya dengan JLo....ga keki kan?).
Sebenernya ga mirip-mirip banget ding, (tuh boong lagi heheeh), cuman profesi tokoh utamanya aja sama.
Di game ini, kita bantuin jeng 'JLo' supaya wedding party yang dia urus ga hancur berantakan.
Di awal games, seperti cake mania dan Dinner Dash juga, ada komik yang nyeritain asal-muasal urusan jeng 'JLo' , bahkan nongol Flo-nya Dinner Dash yang ternyata temen jeng 'JLo' dan menawarkan bantuan.
JLo cuman perlu nyuruh2 pelayan doang sebenernya, cuman kadang2 kalau ada yang berantem, ada tamu yang aneh2 atau urusan dapur yang kacau, baru dia turun tangan langsung. Selebihnya dia tinggal merintahin pelayan untuk nerima kado, nganterin ke penganten, nganterin makanan dari apetizer, hidangan utama, sampai cuci mulutnya...(di sini gamesnya jadi mirip banget dinner dash).
Tapi sebelum sampai ke ruang kondangan, kita harus menyimak permintaan penganten dan milihin jenis bunga, makanan dan tujuan bulan madu yang sesuai dengan kesukaan penganten.
Susah ngga? ah, enggaaaaa...... si 5 tahun aja maininnya sambil merem kok (biasaaa... boong lagi...hahaha)

Ternyata oh ternyata, setelah anakku mainin games ini ke level yang lebih-lebih tinggi. Sampailah pada tahap di mana si mbaknya mudik (ga tau deh beneran mudik atau nggak, pokoknya si nanny menghilang begitu saja dari game).
Seperti di sini juga, setelah mbak mudik, semua pekerjaan yang biasa dikerjainnya dibebanin deh ke si ibu. Emak yang biasanya cuek-bebek banget sama berantaknya rumah dan rengekan bayinya jadi super sibuk ngerjain semuanya....persiiiis fenomena lebaran deh.
Naaaaah kalau tahap ini selesai, kayanya si emak juga bakalan ngacir, dan ninggalin bapaknya ngerjain semua tugas rumah tangga itu....

Suburnya kebun Alice greenfingers

Anakku sejak semingu ini punya dua game favorit. Selain Nanny mania yang sudah dibahas sebelumnya, dia juga lagi keranjingan minigame baru Alice the greenfinger. Di game ini, kita harus menolong Alice untuk menyuburkan kebunnya, memanen, dan menjual hasilnya.

Buat yang sudah pernah main harvest moon, games ini mirip banget..mungkin bisa dibilang versi minigamesnya harvestmoon girl.

Bedanya ada juga sih, kalau di harvest moon tokohnya bisa berjalan2 keluar perkebunannya untuk bergaul sama tetangga dan ikutan berbagai perlombaan di desa, di minigames ini Alice hanya bisa bergerak di kebunnya dan di pasar (yang muncul sebagai pop up window) saat menjual hasil kebunnya.

Asyiknya, di games ini Alice bisa menentukan sendiri harga panennya, pinter2 nya kita mengintip petunjuk mengenai buah/sayur apa yang sedang laku di pasaran.

Panennya bisa dipercepat dengan memberi pupuk, walaupun sebenarnya tanpa dipupukin juga kalau sudah banyak tanaman di kebun kita bakalan keteteran untuk memanennya.

Sayangnya sejauh ini belum ketemu cara untuk mendapatkan tenaga bantuan yang bisa nolongin Alice di kebunnya, ga seperti Harvest moon yang bisa dibantuin 9 kurcaci.

Seperti games-games berkebun lainnya, games ini juga menghibur mata, kalau kebunnya udah penuh panen, serasa ngeliat kebun yang indah gimana gitu (hiks, maklum ga pernah punya kebun beneran)

Saking asiknya main, sering terjadi berebutan game sama bundanya deh (heheh jadi malu). Moga2 nanti aku bisa beliin rumah yang punya kebun luas biar anakku bisa bener2 berkebun, sekarang latihan dulu di dunia maya.

CARRIE THE CAREGIVER

Today my daughter spent the whole day at home due to her tonsilitis causing fever. To keep her Sunday feels like Sunday without going anywhere, I offer her to play some games at home and she chose Carrie the caregiver that she hadn't play for some time. This game is a strategy game easy for toddler to play. Of course the higher the level, it gets harder too. But I think it's good for their motoric skill and eye to hand coordination. For those who had playes similar strategy games such as dinner dash and cake mania, to play this game only need seconds of adaptation. Carrie is a nurse in the newborn section of a hospital(or so it seems). Player have to help her manage the newborn needs from feeding them milk, changing diapers, medicate, etc. It starts with 4 babies to take care of, and then the babies gets more in number and attitude, too. My daughter has managed to play up to the 6 by herself, further than that I gladly help her out.

Nanny Mania...make us pay more respect to the nanny

This morning I tried a new game called nanny mania I've downloaded through the internet, of course my reason was for it to be played by my toddler.
First I thought the game would not be any much different from the previous game we've been playing for a while (read my revoew on Carrie the caregiver), but then i was wrong.
Nanny mania has a richer Sims like animation, and her task is much more complicated. Instead of being a nanny, who I thought was only to take care of little children, she's more as the help in the house. We have to make her do all chores from cleaning, cook, baby sit, mopping, do the laundry, etc.
The family she help is a troublemaker, the father always brought some dirt on his shoe, the baby won't stop crying, the toddler (the baby will grow into toddler and bring some friends home) keep messing things around.
Oh, of course there's the mother, who don't go to work, but don't do anything in the house. She rarely visit her own baby, so don't count on her to change her own baby's diaper.
Well, from now on, everyone should pay more respect to their maid. If you don't ...try to do all of their task on this game...

Nanny Mania, repotnya jadi pe er te

Tadi pagi saya nyobain main mini game baru (setelah lama berusaha nggak download game sehubungan speedyku yang udah over quota bulan ini hihihi).
Kaya game yang udah pernah dibahas di sini sebelumnya, ini game juga game strategi. Tapi ternyata dugaan saya salah, game ini ga mirip dengan carrie the caregiver.
Nanny di game ini kerjanya lebih bribet, lebih cocok disebut maid kerena kerjanya serepot PRT. Dari nyuci baju,masak,bersihin kamar,tempat tidur dan kamar mandi, juga ngurusin bayi sampe tuh anak gede and punya ade yang buanyak banget…yang juga harus diurusin.
Sementara si ibu santai2 banget dan cuman sekali2 aja liatin bayinya, bikin gemes aja!
Sebagai kaum Ibu, game ini jadi ngingetin daku supaya ngga slebor dang a tergantung amat ama PRT….kasian ngeliat repotnya mereka di game ini.

Bikin kue tart expres a la Cake Mania

Cake Mania mirip pendahulunya, Dinner Dash. Bedanya di Cake Mania tokoh yang dimainkan bukan waitress, tapi tukang buat kue. Dari mulai menyapa pelanggan yang datang, memanggang kue di oven, menghias kue, membungkus dan menyerahkan kepada yang mesen tadi.

Lama-lama kesannya pasti membosankan? Tapi, tunggu dulu, semakin saya nambah tinggi level permainan yang bisa dilakukan, makin banyak juga. Kalau duit sudah terkumpul, bisa beli oven baru, mesin penghias kue yang lebih canggih dengan bentuk-bentuk hiasan yang lucu-lucu mulai dari yang standar seperti lilin biasa, ada hiasan model kapal pinisi, ada boneka beruang, bola aneh, dan nenek-nenek.

Tamu yang datang juga semakin lucu, ada cupid kecil yang ga sabaran nunggu pesenan kuenya, ada bapak-bapak berkostum kelinci merah jambu, nenek-nenek cantik, dan lain-lain. Kue yang dipesen makin lama juga makin susah, yang bertingkat lah, yang bentuknya kaya pohon cemara lah, terus macam-macam rasanya juga semakin bervariasi. Jadi tidak bakal membosankan, malah bikin penasaran.

Semua pesenan ketuker-tuker rasa dan modelnya, sampai pelanggan marah-marah dan ninggalin counter. Permainan ini lebih menarik dibandingin Dinner Dash yang begitu-begitu saja.

Sekarang sebenarnya udah ada versi baru Cake mania back to the bakery, tapi menurutku sih lebih seru versi pertamanya, karena bakery shopnya pindah2 sampai 4 lokasi. Sedangkan versi penerusnya harus berjuang mati2an di toko kakek-neneknya dengan misi menyelamatkan toko mereka dari kebangkrutan.

This game first attracted me when I was crazy about life simulation games. And just like the most popular The Sims, Virtual villager is about managing peoples life, only that in this game they live in a small village in the middle of an island. The animation in the game is not as life like, but more cartoonlike and cuter.
The games might be more interesting for kids because of the cute graphic, and it better teach the kids about simple life living, because unlike The Sims, we don't get any starter money in our pocket. We have to work our way through the game to survive.
We can train many kind of skills to the village people so they have a community to survive the simple life game.

Menjadi Lurah di Virtual villager

Awalnya saya mencoba game ini karena model permainannya yang mirip-mirip The Sims, satu permainan simulasi kehidupan yang pasti semua penggemar game kenal.
Perbedaan yang paling nyata antara kedua games adalah animasi dan setting backgroundnya. Bila The Sims lebih hidup animasinya dan bersetting kehidupan kota, virtual villager mempunya animasi yang lebih imut dan lucu seperti kartun anak-anak. Seperti namanya, settingnya pun di pedesaan terpencil yang (tampaknya) terletak di sebuah pulau.
Di sini berlaku sistem barter, karena penduduk desa tidak diberi modal uang seperti dalam permainan Sims. Dan masing-masing penduduk desa dapat kita latih sehingga mempunya keterampilan berbeda sesuai dengan bakat dan minatnya.
Untuk saya, game ini lumayan menarik walaupun lama-lama menjadi membosankan juga. Games tycoon yang satu ini beda dengan games tycoon lainnya .Buat yang suka melihara ikan pasti game ini bikin ketagihan. Dengan tampilan yang mirip screen saver aquarium, game ini enak di mata juga. Dan ga seperti feeding frenzy (sebenarnya ga ada yang sama antara keduanya), jenis ikan di sini lebih beragam,puluhan mungkin ratusan malah.
Pada awal permainan kita dimodalin untuk beli perlengkapan, seperti telur ikan dan aksesori aquarium lainnya. .perlu kesabaran untuk main game ini. Ya seperti punya aquarium beneran, kita ga boleh lupa kasih makan ikan, terutama ikan yang lebih langka. Semua ikan dapat dibiakkan,ga ada jantan betina. Dengan biak silang kita bisa dapat berbagai jenis ikan lain,bahkan ikan ajaib yang punya khasiat beda2 dan harga jual yang lebih mahal.

Games ini mungkin bisa dijadikan uji coba untuk anak-anak yang minta dibeliin aquarium, sebab kalau ikan-ikan di games ini ga dipelihara dengan baik mereka bisa sakit juga dan akibatnya bisa pada koit juga. So untuk liat seberapa serius anak2 mau melihara ikan beneran, ada baiknya dites dulu mereka dengan memainkan game ini.

To help my kid learn things without feeling like she was studying, we gave her some various interactive PC games. And although back then she was only 3 years old, she had enjoyed playing these games that she can type her name before she can even write an alphabet manually.
Here are some of her fave:
Untuk membantu si kecil belajar tanpa merasa sedang belajar, saya dan suami memperkenalkan games PC interaktif sejak dia berusia hampir 3 tahun. Awalnya kami kuatir si kecil bakal jadi game addict, tapi untungnya nggak tuh. Berhubung sifat dia yang emang rada kurang konsentrasi dan cepet bosen. Tapi, dengan main games interaktif -walaupun sering ditinggal main yang lain- dia jadi cepat mengenal huruf. Sebelum bisa menulis secara manua, si kecil sudah bisa mengetik namanya dengan benar looh.....

My daughter simply likes all kind of games. One kind that can keep her quiet while in the car is a mobile games. Thank God for this, other wise she would not sit still and keep moving back and forth from the front seat to the middle to the back seat, and back to the front. So, maybe you have the same problem with your own toddler, here are some of her favorite mobile games.
